For those of you who never installed a car alarm...Forget about everything you know about computer, working on car engines, and installing car radio's. Because installing a car alarm is like learning how to drive or learning how to operate a computer all over again. To hire someone to install it for you will charge a minimum of $300. (F***ing rip off.)..Some won't even install it for you. They will say you have to buy theirs which is the same thing for $200 more. If you are fortunate to have a good existing alarm still plan on spending a entire day. 16hours if not more installing your new alarm and adjusting it..On top of re-routing wires from your head lamps and parking lights to the car alarm its self. Viper being the best alarm system you would think they would make a more understandable diagram for connecting wires or offer better web support online. Or the very least more explanation to the manual. It's that bad people....

I'll start with only negative thing to be said about this alarm system. Passive arm needs to be programed by a special bit writer. So the alarm won't arm unless you manually hit the arm button. So if you simply walk away from your car and forget to arm it, your car will just stay unarmed, period. I did the install by myself and found it to be real easy given the fact my car has an aftermarket alarm already installed. The two way remote is awesome, it lights up and rings when the alarm goes off.
