After a month of heartache I finally got this thing to work as a Barking Dog Alarm that triggers from a motion detector. Yes, my girlfriend left me, but the alarm works!

There was no disk included, but a file download was available on the Scytek site. Not impossible to find, but you might not be sure when you actually do find it. The CarTunes downloader software would not install unless I first went to a Microsoft site and retrieved and installed "Microsoft .Net Framework". The support guy said just to download the latest version, but I had to back up to version Net Framework 3.5 for my XP machine. The dude is from India (sounds like), but sincerely tried to be helpful. I also got a girl who responded in Spanish, 'y entonces?', but I just said 'Hola' and she started talking in English. I don't know why - my accent is not that bad.

Bought one of these to mate up with my car's existing ScyTek alarm system. The installation manual was cryptic as and as useful as single-ply toilet paper. I contacted ScyTek's tech support, and they were quite responsive, but the person I was talking to didn't speak English very well. After a few confusing emails, I called him and finally got installation instructions that were helpful. I followed them exactly, and the siren did not work at all. Tech support later told me that maybe it had malfunctioned, but was out of warranty (It took me over a year to get around to installing it after I bought it). I bought a second siren, and that one worked only partially with some sounds not working. I then gave up. This is a great concept but horribly executed. By the way, the software to program this thing doesn't work on Windows 7 unless you are quite savvy at getting legacy software to work on Windows 7. ScyTek, this product needs serious work. Great sound quality since best buy installed it, my alrms goes off randomly and triggers warn away at random. I hope it's not the speaker but the alarm worked fine before.
