I installed a one-way version of this on my 2000 Monte Carlo last fall. Installed the 580 on my wife's 2009 Vue this fall. The installation can be done yourself if you can read diagrams and use a volt meter. You must buy the proper interface module loaded with software to make it work in your car. I found one on that auction site that starts with an E. Using the DB-All interface, I only had to hook up 7 wires. Took about two days, but i am extremely obsessive about making things look stock. This unit has excellent range. It tells you if the vehicle received the signal, no hoping and guessing if it started. I am very satisfied! The setup would cost around $500 installed at a retail store, and you never know who is hacking into the wires under your dash.

The system works great, a lot of features, be careful, is not a securiy system, is just a keyless entry system. The remotes are a little low quality plastic. But everything else is great.

This unit works well, however the battery door on both remotes has broken, and I am having a tough time finding replacement parts
