Was installing remote start on a co-worker's '07 Saturn Ion, just because other bypass modules say they support this car doesn't mean they do. This is the ticket for the Ion, even tells you the correct wire colors unlike others. Just make sure the jumper is actually set for the Ion, it says it's the factory setting but mine was not set that way. Took a moment to figure that out but once I moved the jumper it worked perfect. Instructions are easy to follow and well written. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Gm Self Learning Passlock Override (Electronics) Installed on a 98 Blazer which kept dying to fuel delivery problem, originally replaced fuel pump, as vehicle had no fuel pressure, but it still had the same problem. It had a security issue which kept shutting down fuel delivery. Installed bypass module with a few miminal problems, as you can not find the wiring harness for bypassing these vehicles, so had to splice into original wiring harness. It does learn the bypass value and will let the vehicle start and run, before the vehicle would run and at times would not restart which would leave you stranded. For the price and time of installing the bypass, from what I have read is much cheaper than having the dealer replace the body module which is much higher and no guarantee that it will not do it again. If you are handy with wiring and can do a little research, you can do this yourself, but most sites do not give a whole lot of information about installing these items unless you are a registered repair...Read more 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Gm Self Learning Passlock Override (Electronics) After taking 1/2 the 2004 GMC Canyon truck apart I was able to find the wires to splice into. I followed all the directions carefully, programmed, etc. Hoping that I could bypass the Passlock system (light has been coming on). Well it worked for a few days and then the truck would not even start! I disconnected the system and boom it works again (with the Passlock light on of course). Scam? |
