I bought this unit and had it professionally installed in March 2002. It's been nothing but trouble since then. Began having false alarms after only 3 months. There's no rhyme or reason to the false alarms; they just occur randomly. Went back to the dealer and, after considerable arguing, they replaced the control module, at my insistence. At the time it was still under the one-year full manufacturer's warranty. In May 2005, it began doing the same thing all over again! This unit cost me $308.20 including installation. I did considerable research before I bought it and thought it was a quality product, as it's advertised as "top of the line." (What a joke!) Called a local dealer after the second round of problems began in May 2005 and they said the limited warranty repair charge would be $45 plus about $55 labor. (Around $100 total.)
