I tried several times to get it to work and it hasnt worked. I also called the customer service number they said if it doesnt work call ford or mercury and see if a fob was made for the 2002 year, or take it to a local dealer to get them to help u get it working but in checking most dealers would help for a small fee of $200!!!!!!!!!! I feel if one wasnt made for that year why would the item say its for vehicles 1995-2006 or why would the advertisment online say that on the item? I wish It was a better solution to my problem.
